Welcome Everybody To 140 Oaks!
Love the Life You’re Living
First of all, please pretty please, love the life you’re living. Although inspiration is always nice, remember, through it all, just be you. Make it work for you and yours.
With that said, I have so much to share. Let me start by saying how excited I am about this blog. Also, so excited to have you along this new chapter of my life. Also, please understand that I am a regular gal with bits of experiences that I’d like to tell about and hopefully inspire with.
Love Your Life
So, my life is not perfect but I make it work. There were times when I wasn’t in love with the life I was living but that was entirely my fault. I just didn’t know how to do it. And, like most of us in the online community, focusing on other people’s lives became my escape. The worse thing about it is that I forgot to fall in love with the life I was living.
A Photoshop Image is Pretty Glaze on Your Cake
So my friend, my goal for this blog is to show you that the lives we see depicted on our screens are of images that have been carefully selected and altered so that they can be exhibited. Yes, exhibited. You see, we gather the highlights out of hundreds and even thousands of images and what you get to see is the very best version of our self for a split second of exposure. A fraction of a second of perfection. The other fifty shots of imperfection are never on your screen.
Sharing The Raw Truth
I want to share with you the pretty and the not so pretty. I’d like to give you the confidence and maybe some peace of mind about your own life.
Here is a perfect example of what I’m saying, we are instantly aware of the raw truth when someone who always wears makeup goes without it. In that same sense, anyone’s life can seem dreamy and perfect when it’s seen through a good camera and some semi-good photoshop skills.
The unfiltered, raw truth of our everyday life is just as enjoyable when you love and are content with who you are. (with or without filters applied)
Living to love or loving to live is not a decision to make but a challenge to do both.Click To Tweet
Naturally, we like to pretty things up to please the eye. But just like everyone else, we have the not-so-pretty days that just won’t produce a nice picture.
A life lived in the raw, unaltered, and normalness of our everyday life is like a scrumptious chocolate cake that is only made better with a pretty glaze (photoshop filter) on top.
That’s all it is people, pretty colors, and nice finishes. What matters is how good your cake is… how fulfilled are you with what encompasses your life? Are you loving the life you’re living? Well, I hope I can remind you of the blessings you do have. I pray I can show you how, with family by my side and a whole lot of Jesus every day, I make it work. Making it work even when I feel I’m falling short.
